Hewn of sweat through brief summer days beneath a midnight sun, log walls and rough timbers embrace the penetrating warmth cast from a wood burning hearth, fresh wild water warming atop the heavy steel plate, steam rising to invite my soul into the soothing embrace of tonight’s bath, every notch and nail a welcome time, uncounted loads which bore no burden upon my spirit, drawn through miles of forest and over river, lakes and creek, embrace me now as only true passion can, reflecting years together the curve of our history within and beyond her walls, returning each night to a heart which knows me, embraced in the folds of time, hands weary of labor past, held close in a cabin hewn by mine.
